Calhoun, Ga., man's body found in Coosa River

The body of a Calhoun, Ga., man was pulled from the Coosa River on Monday afternoon.

The death of 56-year-old Billy Brock is still under investigation after someone spotted him floating in the water near the Chief John Ross Memorial Bridge in Floyd County, Ga., authorities said.

Brock had been in the water for several days, said Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor.

Proctor said he was able to identify the man from the different tattoos on his body.

While Brock's family hadn't reported him missing in Calhoun, his family had been looking for him, Proctor said. Brock's son told the deputy coroner the family noticed he was missing several days ago.

Brock's body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Proctor said.
