Marijuana plants seized in Walker County

August 1st, 2011 by Staff Report in Local - Breaking News

During a local and state-wide marijuana sting last week, authorities seized 337 plants and arrested three people, officials said.

Led by the Governor's Task Force on Marijuana Eradication, agents also found an indoor marijuana-growing operation, said Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.

Every year, the task force partners with local authorities such as the Lookout Mountain Judicial Drug Task Force and the sheriff's office to spot pot growers from the air.

Once the helicopter sees the plants, police attempt to make arrests from the ground.
