Finley Stadium executive director Merrill Eckstein proposed a budget today for the 2011-12 fiscal year that calls for a $600 surplus, this despite the City of Chattanooga no longer providing $60,000.
Eckstein expects to make up the difference in parking, skybox rentals and concessions, and he admits he is optimistic for a big season for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team.
"I think this can be done," Eckstein said before his budget was approved by Stadium Corp. board members.
The Stadium Corp. had a $19,900 surplus for the 2010-11 fiscal year, said Eckstein, which he believes is the first surplus in the 20,668-seat facility's history.
