Authorities are hoping to get the remains of Gail Palmgren and her vehicle off the side of Signal Mountain Saturday because several days of rain are expected to start Sunday.
Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond said today that, while he can't be completely sure the body is Palmgren's until a physical examination can be made, he is "98 percent" sure it's her.
He said the sheriff's office is working with the U.S. Army to get a helicopter that can airlift Palmgren's crimson Jeep Rubicon and off the mountain. Her remains will be taken out by hand, officials said.
Five female members from the University of Tennessee's Anthropological Research Facility were on the scene today, gathering evidence, Hammond said.
