Man suffers gunshot to elbow

A man walked into an emergency room at 6:30 p.m. with a gunshot to his elbow, but he could not tell Chattanooga police how or why he was shot.

All he said was that he was walking near North Orchard Knob Avenue and Walker Street, according to Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

At the same time police officers responded to a robbery call at the Hixson Court Apartments at 3825 Hixson Pike. The victim was pistol-whipped before being robbed of his wallet, keys and cell phone. He also had no details about who hit him.

Weary said investigators are interviewing both men to see if the incidents are connected.
