A pedestrian who was struck and killed when trying to cross Lee Highway Thursday night has been identified as 29-year-old Ericka Hullander.
Hullander stepped into a lane of traffic in the 8000 block as a van was passing and was struck at about 6:45 p.m., said Sgt. Jerri Weary, spokeswoman for Chattanooga Police Department.
No one has been charged in the crash, which remains under investigation. Hullander was crossing in a dimly lit area and was clad in dark clothing. The driver of the van told police he did not see her until he struck her.
Hullander was pronounced dead at the scene.
