UT loses to Georgia

KNOXVILLE - Scotty Hopson did everything he could to will his team to a victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Tennessee junior needed more help.

Hopson scored a career-high 32 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome four Georgia players in double figures as the Bulldogs overcame blowing a 15-point first-half lead with a 69-63 win in Thompson-Boling Arena.

Jeremy Price led the Bulldogs (18-8, 7-5 Southeastern Conference) with 20 points on eight of nine shooting. Travis Leslie (15 points), Trey Thompkins (11 points, nine rebounds) and Dustin Ware (12 points, six of nine on free throws) helped Georgia get a crucial road win for its NCAA Tournament resume.

Tobias Harris, who scored 16 points on seven of 17 from the field, was the only other UT player in double figures. Hopson, who scored 27 in UT's win at Pittsburgh in December, made 12 of 19 shots.
