No. 5 Lady Vols rout Mississippi 86-46

KNOXVILLE - Shekinna Stricklen and Meighan Simmons had 18 points apiece and No. 5 Tennessee cruised to am 86-46 win over Mississippi on Sunday.

The Lady Volunteers (15-2, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) beat the Rebels for the 21st consecutive time and logged their fourth blowout in five games, outscoring opponents by an average 37.6 points in that stretch.

Tennessee led 16-2 with 9:13 in the first half when they launched a 15-2 run that began and ended with a 3-pointer by Stricklen and gave the Lady Vols a 31-14 lead. A layup by Kamiko Williams just before the buzzer sent them to the locker room with a 42-22 lead.

Mississippi (8-6, 1-1) has recorded at least 40 rebounds in 10 games this season, but only managed 31 compared to Tennessee's 53. Stricklen grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double.

Valencia McFarland led the Rebels with 16 points.
