Netherlands site wins 'smart city' award in competition involving Chattanooga

Eindhoven, The Netherlands, today won the so-called smartest city award presented by a New York City think tank.

Chattanooga was one of seven cities worldwide in the running for the title given by the Intelligent Community Forum. Chattanooga's hyper-fast Internet connectivity was a key factor in the city's effort, according to officials.

The other cities were Chattanooga, Dublin, Ohio; Issy-les-Moulineaux, France; Riverside, Calif.; Stratford, Canada; and Windsor-Essex, Canada.
