Franklin man injured after bottle bomb explodes

FRANKLIN - Franklin Police are searching for the maker of 11 homemade bottle bombs left outside houses in the Polk Place subdivision where one resident was injured after one bomb exploded Monday night inside his home.

Franklin Police spokesman Sgt. Charlie Warner said police began investigating the incident after a 37-year-old Polk Place Drive resident brought one of the homemade bombs inside his house Monday evening around 9 p.m. after someone rang his front doorbell.

The man, whom police did not identify, found a plastic bottle on the steps which he thought was trash, and brought it inside where it exploded, Warner said in a statement.
