Suspect in custody on SWAT call

A standoff that lasted about 4 hours has ended with Chattanooga Police taking a man into custody.

According to police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval the call originally came in as a disorder and escalated as shots were fired within a house at 4139 Bonny Oaks Drive.

According to police, Jason Williams, 38, barricaded himself in the house and had a handgun.

The Chattanooga Police Department surrounded the home and called in its SWAT team earlier in the evening to intervene.

Police said the standoff ended when they introduced chemical agents within the home. No injuries were reported.
