Two students arrested at Sequoyah High School in Soddy-Daisy

Two students were arrested Monday at Sequoyah High School in Soddy-Daisy in separate incidents, officials said.

One student was arrested for possessing an unloaded handgun and the other was arrested for possessing a small amount of drugs, officials said.

Students found the gun hidden in a vehicle that was in the school's parking lot and was being worked on in mechanics class, Sequoyah High Principal Todd Jackson said.

Both students were also suspended, Jackson said.
