The Ooltewah-Collegedale Council, part of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, listened this morning to two opposing views for a newly proposed city on the northeastern boundary of Hamilton County.

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and Chris Matthews, president of Friends of Hamilton, spoke today at the Chamber meeting.

Members of Friends of Hamilton announced late last year they planned to incorporate a city sandwiched between Chattanooga and Cleveland. It includes the areas of Birchwood, Harrison and Ooltewah.

Jamie Kyle, president of the Ooltewah-Collegedale Council, said his organization wanted more details on the new city's plans for incorporation and Chattanooga's plans for expansion.

"That's why were here today," he said.

Almost 100 people attended the event, held in the Collegedale Municipal Building.
