Friday's storms damaged homes, felled trees and knocked out power in portions of Polk County.

Fifteen homes were damaged, up to three of them severely, said Stephen M. Lofty, director of Polk County Civil Defense.

The homes were located in and around the Linsdale Community in northwest Polk County. Lofty said two storm tracks went through the area around noon.

No dollar value of damage has been determined at yet. Lofty said an assessment would made after he and Tennessee Emergency Management officials reviewed the homes this afternoon.

Evening storms knocked down trees and cut power in Reliance and Greasy Creek, said Lofty, but no home damage has been reported.

The storms caused no injuries, but a resident sustained minor wounds while retrieving belongings from their damaged home.
