A Bradley County teacher has pleaded not guilty after being indicted on allegations that she had an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old male former student.
Christie David, 32, a married language arts teacher at Walker Valley High School, was indicted this week on one count of sexual battery by an authority figure.
She was suspended from school at the beginning of October after the sheriff's office opened an investigation. Bradley County school system officials were off for Thanksgiving holidays and couldn't be reached to ask about David's status since the indictment.
David was arrested Oct. 23 and posted a $10,000 bond. Her attorney, Andrew Freiberg, didn't return calls Wednesday seeking comment.
Her case will be heard in February, court officials said.
David graduated from Lee University, according to her Facebook page, and taught spin classes at the local YMCA.
