STRATFORD, Conn. - Connecticut police say they arrested a truck driver from Georgia after DNA tests linked him to a 2011 rape in Stratford.
Forty-year-old Jarvis Wright of Lithia Springs, Ga., was charged Monday with first-degree sexual assault and misdemeanor strangulation. He's being held on $150,000 bail and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 6.
Police told the Connecticut Post that Wright raped a 20-year-old woman in July 2011 in a parking lot off Honeyspot Road where he had parked his tractor-trailer.
The victim told authorities that a man grabbed her wrists, pinned her to his truck, choked her until she collapsed and raped her. Police say DNA evidence was collected from the woman and was later found to match Wright's DNA.
It's not clear if Wright has a lawyer.
