East Ridge and state officials have completed their investigation into the cause of a fatal fire on Dec. 25, and the cause is still unknown.
The East Ridge Fire Department and the state's bomb and arson investigators say the cause of the fire at 6715 Ringgold Road is officially undetermined.
But the identity of a male whose remains were found inside the structure is still under investigation. Fire officials say the remains belong to a male approximately 17 to 35 years old, who was between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and who weighed 150 to 170 pounds.
The remains will be sent to University of Tennessee's Anthropology Department for further analysis, according to an East Ridge Fire Department press release Monday.
Officials do not suspect foul play.
