Lady Mocs rout Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team led Wofford 24-23 at the half tonight at Benjamin Johnson Arena. What was a tight game turned into a rout as UTC dominated the second half and won 63-44.

The win is the Lady Mocs' 32nd straight against the Terriers. Alex Black led UTC with 14 points, going 3-for-3 from 3-point range. Taylor Hall added six points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Mocs (18-3, 11-1 Southern Conference) moved into first place by itself in the league standings. Davidson (13-8, 10-1) is off until Saturday.

The Lady Mocsled 24-23 at the half despite making just 9 of 29 first-half shots (31 percent), while the Terriers went 10-for-22 (45 percent) from the field. Wofford also has a 22-12 rebounding advantage.

UTC was up 41-35 with 10:17 to play and ran away from the Terriers the rest of the way. The Lady Mocs host Samford on Wednesday at McKenzie Arena.
