Steve Angle, senior vice president of Wright State University in Ohio, is being recommended to run the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was one of five finalists for the job.

A vote on the selection will be held at the UT board of trustees meeting on Thursday in Chattanooga, officials said.

"Steve is an accomplished scholar and administrator and a proven team builder with an understanding of a metropolitan institution like UTC," said University of Tennessee System President Joe DiPietro. "I believe his experience in partnering with local industry, fundraising and listening to all constituents will resonate with the Chattanooga community."

Angle will replace Roger Brown, who left the post of UTC chancellor in September of 2012, not long after his wife passed away.
