Mocs' Cobb misses trip as penalty for arrest

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga freshman basketball player Farad Cobb was arrested Monday night.

He was charged with under-age drinking and disorderly conduct, according to Hamilton County online arrest reports.

"He got in trouble," coach John Shulman said Friday night from Greensboro, N.C., where the Mocs will play Sunday afternoon. "We're going to handle it internally. He didn't play [Thursday at Elon], and we're still collecting facts.

"He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like I tell them, if there's something good going on after midnight, call me."

Cobb, who was arrested by Chattanooga Police officer Joshua McGuire and released on his own recognizance, has a court date set for Feb. 12 with Judge Lila Statom. Cobb had played in every game of the season until Thursday and averaged 6.3 points per game.

"It wasn't anything incredible or crazy," Shulman said. "I'm disappointed, and we're teaching life lessons along the way."
