Dozens of drivers rescued in Alabama flood

FAIRHOPE, Ala. - Police in Fairhope say more than a dozen drivers had to be rescued from flooded roads in the south Alabama city.

Police Lt. Stephanie Hollinghead tells AL.com cars were pushed to safety Thursday after nearly four inches of rain fell within an hour.

The National Weather Service in Mobile issued a flash flood warning for southwest Baldwin County and Emergency Management Agency Director Reggie Chitwood says the water is receding but some roads will remain closed because the ground is so saturated.
