Red Bank to release draft of 2014 budget

Red Bank has held two preliminary budget meetings and is preparing to release the draft of its 2014 budget online today, said City Manager Randall Smith.

Mayor John Roberts said he is not sure yet what the total budget will be.

"There will be no property tax increase whatsoever," he added.

The city's Finance Department was $14 under budget last year, according to Roberts.

One of the city's major purchases next year includes a new transmission for a Public Works Department vehicle, he said.

The Police Department will be purchasing two new cars, but the money will come out of the drug fund, said Roberts.

A public hearing in which citizen input will be gathered on the budget is being held at Red Bank City Hall Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m.
