ATLANTA - Authorities say five state buildings near the Georgia Capitol have been evacuated after a bomb threat.
Tracey Watson with the Georgia Department of Public Safety says a call came in around 9 a.m. today involving a threat against 47 Trinity Avenue, home to the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Watson says four other state buildings were evacuated due to their proximity. The building that houses the attorney general and the Georgia Supreme Court has been cleared and employees are being allowed back in.
Watson says authorities are following standard procedure by evacuating the buildings and urging those in the area not to use radios or cellphones. Streets in the area have been shut down.
Those evacuated were directed to a driver's services building near Turner Field and Centennial Olympic Park.
