63 cited at Tennessee party thrown by a 19-year-old

JACKSON, Tenn. - Madison County Sheriff's deputies have cited 63 people after teenagers were caught drinking at a party thrown by a 19-year-old.

According to The Jackson Sun, Sheriff David Woolfork said people gathered at the home of James Mac Hardwick Jr. and Sara Kathleen Hardwick. Woolfork said the couple knew there was underage drinking at the party held by their son, Christopher Drew Hardwick.

Deputies responded to a noise complaint early Sunday and cited the couple and eight other adults with contributing charges.

James Hardwick told the newspaper the party got out of hand when as many as 50 other people arrived over a couple of hours and said he was trying to end the party when deputies arrived.

Most cited were over 18, but not yet 21. Eight were minors.
