Sale Creek Middle-High School was on lockdown briefly today as Hamilton County sheriff's deputies searched for a 24-year-old man.

Deputies are looking for Josh Sharber, described as having blue eyes, brown hair and wearing khaki shorts with a gray sweatshirt.

The sheriff's office said that when deputies made a routine traffic stop involving a Chevrolet S10 truck the driver jumped out and ran into a wooded area off Highway 27 in Sale Creek. Deputies cordoned off a large area between Patterson Road and Highway 27 and called for a search dog, according to a news release. Deputies said the truck was stolen from an address just a few blocks from the area where they first observed the suspect.

The middle-high school was locked for the safety of students.

Deputies obtained warrants for theft of an auto and evading arrest in connection with the incident. They said Sharber also has outstanding warrants involving narcotics.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Josh Sharber is asked to call the sheriff's office at 423-622-0022.
