Alabama couple sentenced to 70 years in home invasion

TROY, Ala. - A south Alabama couple has been sentenced to 70 years in prison each for their involvement in a home invasion robbery.

Parrish Jerome Bean and Deanna Shantrese McLeod, of Troy, were sentenced Wednesday after being found guilty in March.

Authorities have said Bean, McLeod and a third accomplice, 21-year-old Thomas White III, forced their way into a couple's home while wearing masks and carrying a shotgun in March 2012. The victims fought the three suspects, and White died after one of the home's residents stabbed him.

The Dothan Eagle reports the victims, a husband and wife, were both treated and underwent surgeries for numerous injuries after the incident.
