Chattanooga police are investigating a rash of gas thefts after receiving complaints in the Brainerd and Hamilton Place neighborhoods that gas lines are being cut on parked vehicles.
Witnesses told police a white male with dark hair was seen cutting the lines and draining the tanks. He was last seen driving a maroon Chevy Trailblazer.
