KNOXVILLE - The victim of an assault inside a South Knoxville apartment Monday told police he was struck so many times with a hammer that his attacker lost his grip because the handle became too bloody.
One suspect is in custody, although police have yet to release the person's name, pending charges. At least one other person was detained for questioning.
The attack was reported at 11:23 a.m. at Spanish Trace Apartments, 2300 Davenport Road, according to a news release from Knoxville Police Department Sgt. Jason Keck.
