Wintry mix possible in north Georgia mountains

Forecasters say a wintry mix of precipitation will be possible across far north Georgia.

The National Weather Service said the mix of rain and snow will be possible late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

Forecasters say the precipitation could turn to all snow in the highest elevations of the north Georgia mountains, but little accumulation is expected in most areas.

The weather service projects that up to a quarter-inch of snow will be possible in spots above 1,500 feet in elevation.
