Man sought in assault caught

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - A Tullahoma, Tenn., man sought after a domestic dispute and shots-fired call was apprehended Thursday after a foot pursuit.

Officers from the Tullahoma Police Department and Coffee County Sheriff's Office arrested Shawn Michael Luce, 25, of 908 E. Grundy St., on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possession of an illegal weapon.

Luce had been fleeing from law enforcement after a late-night disturbance Wednesday on Normandy Road, according to authorities. Luce was arrested at 1:36 p.m. CDT Thursday at 1188 Riley Creek Road.

"We are pleased Luce has been apprehended, and want to thank all the officers and agencies involved for their great team work," Tullahoma Capt. Scott Jackson said. Luce is originally from Florida and has a felony history, records show.

On Wednesday, Luce fled the scene of the disturbance on Normandy Road with keys and firearms, leaving his vehicle abandoned about 11 p.m. CDT, according to a news release.

Police said they went to the scene where the victim in the domestic dispute was being interviewed and six gunshots rang out nearby. A few minutes later, "more shots were fired in rapid succession," the release states. The incident triggered a search Wednesday night and Thursday.
