Rescuers brought a 14-year-old boy out of the Pocket Wilderness on Mowbray Mountain late Sunday and transported him to Children's Hospital at Erlanger.

Amy Maxwell, spokeswoman for Hamilton County Emergency Services, said Sunday that the boy fell at the Blue Hole shortly after 5 p.m. She said the boy had to be carried out across a swift-water stream. The call came in at 5:40 p.m. and Maxwell said rescuers had hoped to have the boy out by dark.

Maxwell said the Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Soddy-Daisy FD, Dallas Bay VFD, Sequoyah VFD and Sale Creek VFD. Walden's Ridge Emergency Services and Lone Oak VFD also responded with their rope rescue teams.

Maxwell didn't release any information on how he fell or his injuries. She said the boy's parents have asked that his name not be released.
