Two men appear to have worked together to snatch a purse from an unsuspecting woman in Walnut Square Mall before going on a $1,300 shopping spree at Home Depot, Macy's, Famous Footwear and Burger King.

Police say the two men worked as a team to distract employees at a kiosk at the mall, then one quickly made off with the purse after moving it several times as if he was looking at cell phones in the case underneath it.

The woman did not realize that her purse was stolen until 4 p.m. on August 22, when her credit card company called to alert her to unusual activity, according to a news release.

Police suspect that the two thieves racked up large purchases in Calhoun, Adairsville and Kennesaw, including $380 at Home Depot and $180 at the Coach Outlet in Calhoun. In Kennesaw, the pair spent $240 at Famous Footwear and nearly $530 at Macy's. The credit card was also used to grab a $15 snack at the Burger King in Adairsville.

The two are described as Hispanic males. One man wore a navy blue polo shirt with shite stripes on the collar and sleeves, and a blue baseball hat. The other wore a white t-shirt and dark rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information on the two men may call Dalton detectives at 706-278-9085, extension 253.
