Calhoun High School's bid to repeat as Georgia's Class AAA football state champion is over.

The top-ranked Yellow Jackets lost Friday night's state semifinal at No. 2 Blessed Trinity in Roswell 12-7, with standout quarterback Kaelan Riley coming up 3 yards shy of the end zone on fourth-and-goal from the 4-yard line with 12 seconds to play.

Calhoun, which played for a title six of the past seven seasons -and won a championship in 2011 in addition to last year during that stretch - finishes at 13-1.

Blessed Trinity (13-0-1) advances to next week's title game at the Georgia Dome and will play Cedar Grove (11-1-1) or Westminster (9-4).

It's the Titans' deepest postseason run since the program began in 2001. They reached the AAA semifinals last season.
