In the wake of the July shooting attacks on two military sites in Chattanooga, the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge made some discernible security changes.

Most noticeable were new entry restrictions at New Hope Center, which serves as Y-12's processing center for visitors and also houses some offices, research labs, history museum, and an auditorium.
