Woman stabbed in Dalton home, suspect fights first responder

A woman was found stabbed in a house in Dalton, Ga., this afternoon, according to a new release from the Dalton Police Department.

Police were dispatched to 1603 Elaine Way at 12:20 p.m.

Authorities found David Dyer, 48, bleeding outside the house, the release said. Dyer attacked and fought with one of the EMTs and was arrested by responding officers, the release said.

The EMT was transported to Hamilton Medical Center with minor injuries. Dyer was transported with what appeared to be self-inflicted cuts to his wrists.

Inside, officers found his wife Glenda Dyer with apparent stab wounds. She was transported to the hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
