Lantern Fest is coming to Chattanooga.

The festival's website says the event is coming here soon.

Attendees are able to decorate and light lanterns to fill the night sky above Chattanooga.

"This will be the most spectacular sight since Universal Pictures staged the moon landing," the website says.

There's one problem, though. The sale and use of sky lanterns is actually banned in Tennessee.

Authorities say the lanterns can't be controlled and can become a hazard to people and property.

Still, the event says it keeps fire and safety officials on hand, and that it has teams to follow and clean up the lanterns when they fall.

There will also be s'mores, glow-in-the-dark body paint, and dancing. The event hasn't released exactly when or where in the city it will take place.

Early registration is $20. The day of the event, it's $35. The event says it partners with a local charity in each city.
