A Catoosa County Sheriff's deputy was arrested Thursday on charges of stealing someone's pills.

Joshua Carlton Wilson was booked in the Chattooga County Jail after an acquaintance called 911 to say Wilson stole drugs. He remains behind bars without a bond on charges of possession of hydrocodone, possession of tramadol, unauthorized distribution of a controlled substance and violating the oath of a public officer.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said that Catoosa County Sheriff Gark Sisk has placed Wilson on unpaid administrative leave. Sisk did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Schrader said the sheriff's office arrested Wilson during a traffic stop. He said Wilson quickly gave up the drugs.

An incident report on the arrest was not available this afternoon.
