Chattanooga police looking for Desiree Hester in carjacking and assault

Chattanooga police are looking for Desiree Hester in a carjacking and assault that happened Monday.

Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol chased a suspect all the way from Catoosa County, Ga., to the Ridge Cut portion of Interstate 24 Westbound, where the car crashed into a guard rail during rush hour, according to a dispatcher with the GSP.

Soon after this wreck, the Chattanooga police were called to Lyerly Street for a reported carjacking with injuries, according to Spokesman Kyle Miller.

One female was injured in the theft and suffered non-life threatening injuries. The two incidents are related and currently under investigation, Miller said.
