The Bi-Lo grocery store on Greenwood Drive in the Harrison area was evacuated today around 4:30 p.m. due to a small fire in the pharmacy.

Firefighters arrived on scene as the evacuation was in progress due to a light smoke that was visible inside the store, according to Amy Maxwell, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Emergency Services.

The fire started in the pharmacy from an electrical short in a power strip, Maxwell said. The pharmacy employees were able to quickly put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.

No injuries or damage was reported. Firefighters were able to use fans to ventilate the smoke from the building and the grocery store is reopened.
