Chattanooga police responded to three separate shootings Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, including an incident where shots were fired outside Hamilton Place Mall.

Several people were involved in a verbal argument inside the mall around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The disagreement carried into the parking lot outside, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Three to four people were walking to their vehicle when a black male fired a single round in their direction and fled inside the mall. Police officers conducted a complete sweep of the mall in search of the suspect but found he had fled. No one was struck by the gunfire and no property damage was reported.

Mall officials decided to continue business as normal and the mall was kept open and not placed on lock down, but police remained there until closing.

Police are awaiting video surveillance to attempt to identify the suspect and plan to charge the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male with short dreadlocks. He is believed to be in his twenties and was wearing a white tank top and jean shorts.

Police were called at around 1:57a.m. Sunday to 2100 East 35th Street, where a man was shot.

Javon Clark, 21, said he heard a vehicle outside his residence and saw two unknown suspects approach and fire multiple shots. Clark was struck by the gunfire and transported to a hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening.

Clark was unable to provide any further suspect information to investigators.

Then at approximately 4:02 a.m., police were called to a local hospital after a woman arrived with a gunshot wound.

Erica Jones 25, told police she was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on 2900 Dodson Avenue when a white SUV pulled behind the vehicle and someone opened fire.

Multiple shots were fired into the victim's vehicle and the suspect then fled the scene. The injuries Jones sustained were not life threatening.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding any of these incidents to call 423-698-2525.
