UPDATE: Police have issued warrants for two suspects in the case - 19-year-old Quincy Goodine and 18-year-old Shaina Hughes.

They are both wanted on charges of felony murder and especially aggravated murder and are currently being held in Georgia on unrelated charges.

Previous story:

A 21-year-old man was shot to death around 4 a.m. today in a quiet Brainerd neighborhood.

Chattanooga police found Peyton Hogan lying next to a pickup truck at the corner of Benham Drive and Frazier Drive, shot once in the left chest.

Although witnesses say Hogan was alive when police arrived, he later died in the hospital.

Neighbors said a woman ran from house to house just before 4 a.m., pounding on doors and pleading for neighbors to call 911 because someone had been shot. Her cell phone was broken and she didn't have a house phone, she told one neighbor.

About five hours after the shooting, police investigators were still combing through a dark-colored Dodge pickup truck outside the home where Hogan was shot. A pair of empty boots sat beside the truck.

Around 10 a.m., a tow truck removed the pickup truck from the scene.

Hogan is the 27th homicide victim in Chattanooga so far this year - tying the total number of homicides in all of 2014. This year's homicide count includes the five men who died in the July 16 attacks, as well as three justified homicides.

Police say no suspect information is available, but ask that anyone with information about what happened call police at 423-698-2525.
