A Whitfield County couple has been arrested on charges of rape.
The Whitfield County Sheriff's Office arrested Shannon Dale Pittman, 41, on Oct. 7 and Timothy Labron Pittman, 42, on Saturday. Shannon Pittman faces charges of rape and sodomy. Timothy Pittman faces charges of rape and aggravated sodomy.
According to an incident report, the crime began on Sept. 19, when the victim visited the couple.
She told an investigator that when she arrived at their house, the Pittmans were drunk. She said Shannon Pittman poured her some whiskey, which made her drunk.
Then, she told the investigator, they had sex with her. She said the same thing happened again three days later. She returned to a relative's house on Sept. 23 and reported what happened on Sept. 26.
