Hamilton County mayor Jim Coppinger announced Tuesday that the county has received a $20,000 tourism grant from the state that will spark the development process at a 250-acre parcel of land on Chickamauga Lake.

The area of Chester Frost Park known as Pinky's Point will be the target of a development plan by the county designed to provide more space for tourism and recreation activity on the lake.

The county will match the $20,000 grant and begin formulating a long-term plan for the area, which is owned by TVA and leased by the county.

This is a developing story. See tomorrow's Times Free Press for more details.
