The Hamilton County Sheriff is being asked to investigate the death of a woman inmate of Silverdale Correctional Facility.

Madison Bailee Deal, 26, was arrested Aug. 10 on a charge of violating probation, county records show.

A family member told the Times Free Press that Deal was assaulted at Silverdale and was in a coma at Erlanger.

Officials with Corrections Corporation of America, which operates Silverdale, did not return phone calls and messages seeking comment Thursday.

Melydia Clewell, spokeswoman for District Attorney Neal Pinkston, said the DA learned of the woman's death and asked Sheriff Jim Hammond's office to investigate.
