Parents of injured Boy Scout ask for blood donations in his honor

The parents of a critically injured 11-year-old boy scout are encouraging the community to donate blood on Friday in his honor, according to a news release from Blood Assurance

A tree fell on Adrian Senentz Saturday at Enterprise South Nature Park as he worked to clear a new mountain biking trail with his Boy Scout troop.

The boy suffered several injuries and had one of his lungs removed.

Those who wants to participate in the blood drive can donate blood at any area Blood Assurance location.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Adrian and his family as they work through this tragic event and experience incredible suffering," Blood Assurance vice president of marketing and donor recruitment Charlie Callari said in the release. "We hope that anyone who knows Adrian and his family, as well as those who want to give back, will consider making a blood donation in his honor this Friday."
