The Chattanooga Police Department arrested Joshua Wells, 25, on Thursday for an alleged rape that occurred in September. According to the police report, Wells raped the victim inside her vehicle in a dark alley.

The victim claims she took one and a half Xanex pills and does not remember many details of the crime. She does recall, however, that she was at the Brainerd Wal-Mart when she saw two men. She agreed to follow them around town until one of the men entered her car and drove her to an unknown location. According to the victim, the suspect took her to a dark alley, locked the doors then told her to remove her clothing. After she refused, he hit her in the head, removed her pants and raped her, according to the affidavit.

After a complete medical examination at Memorial Hospital, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation matched DNA to Wells, who is now in jail on a $75,000 bond.

Wells has a criminal history for aggravated robbery, aggravated trespassing and theft. His next court date is scheduled for January 12.
