The Georgia Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. July 9 at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, Ga.
The speaker will be Lisa Simpson, a retired Fulton County teacher and long-time docent at the Nature Center. She will speak on the significance of the Hightower Trail, long used by Native Americans. Afterward the group will walk a portion of the trail. Then the chapter's business meeting will take place.
Meetings are free and open to the public.
