Police identify 19-year-old victim in East Lake Courts shooting

Chattanooga police responded to a report of shots fired at East Lake Courts Monday night. The call for the 2600 block of 4th Avenue came in about 6:55, according Hamilton County dispatch records.

Officers roped off a parking lot with crime scene tape and canvassed the housing complex but found no shooting victim. A man with multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds later arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle.

Investigation determined that this shooting was related to the original shots fired call. JaMarcus Davis, 19, said he was a passenger in a vehicle when a car pulled along side and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle. No suspect information is available at this time.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
