Authorities are investigating a Monday evening house fire in the Dallas Bay area, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
A motorist reported a house fire at 6027 Levi Road about 8:30 p.m. and the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene reporting heavy smoke at the front side of the house.
Once firefighters entered the house, the front door and foyer area on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly and kept the blaze from spreading throughout the house. Damages are listed at $5,000.
The fire is undetermined and has been declared suspicious by fire officials and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
