Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the body found earlier in the day on Elder Street was Bianca Horton, 26, mother to an infant girl who was herself paralyzed last year after being shot.

Fletcher said a pedestrian called the police after finding the body and when authorities arrived, they found Horton had been shot to death.

Investigators are following multiple leads, but Fletcher said there is, "Every reason to believe it's gang-related."

Horton's daughter, Zoey Duncan, was 1-year-old when gunfire erupted at an apartment in College Hill Courts in January of last year. Another woman was killed in the shooting and Duncan was paralyzed.
